Some advice, huh? Don't be sad if you don't receive answers from the people you're writing to (via private message). Many aren't active or maybe don't have any time. I don't have that much time personally, either. But I try at least to answer in a nice mail, so that the other person knows what's the matter. However, not everybody does this. Therefore, you maybe have to write to several people to receive an answer. I wrote to ten people after I had joined polyglot, but only one student wrote back. However, I'm luckier that if all those other people would have written back, because she is really nice :-)

You might maybe join the chat. I'm not very active (only kind of idling all the time) but some people really enjoy chatting there.

Some more hints... Yeah, I know one: Don't sit on your chair and start writing posts instead of going to bed. Boy, it's 2 o'clock. I really ought to go now...
