    An italian class?

Hi!!!

I'd like to teach you Italian, and I'd like also to meet you here like in a 'virtual classroom'.

Anyone interested?

Either beginners or advanced, it doesn't matter!

If someone not italian had read my message and Italian-boy's, might not have understood what "classico" and "liguistico" are. So I've decided to talk you about schools. Scuola elementare = from 6 to 10 years Scuola media = from 11 to 13 years Scuola superiore = from 14 to 19 years. Università = can last 3 or 5 years. There are a lot of kinds of scuole superiori Professionali, istituti tecnici, licei... for example in the liceo classico you study expecially literature, latin and greek, in the liceo linguistico foreign languages. Now let me know how old are you, which subjects do you study in your school (or have you studied) and I'll tell you which school would you attend in Italy!!![br][edited by Italian-boy on 2005-01-21 15:49:31]

I'm sorry that I write so rarely. I hope that you will have success studying Italian alone, Anastasia, and remember that your questions are always welcomed here. Someone will answer you! Grazie a Italian-boy per l'aiuto!!! Comunque faccio il linguistico!

Grazie! Venturiano's lessons are good but unfortunately our "teacher" visit the class rarely :-( I understood I can't rely on the forum lessons and should study Italian myself... Ciao a tutti

the Indefinite Article has not a real plural... In fact, if you use "un, uno, una" is like you use " a " or "one", in English... So if you want to say more than one you can say: "alcuni" (male) or "alcune" (female), the indefinite adjectives. But you can also use the "articolo partitivo": you can say, for example: "degli uomini", "delle donne", "dei bambini"... ("some men", "some women", "some children").... Colgo l'occasione per complimentarmi con Venturiano per il lavoro svolto... Suppongo che tu frequenti il Classico, isn't it? Ciao a tutti

Ciao Venturiano, sono Matteo 20 anni, da Venezia. Niente, ho letto (quasi) tutta la tua lezione di italiano e accidenti! Devo dire che ci sai fare, complimenti sul serio. Ci voleva qualcuno che prendesse di petto la nostra difficile lingua e la insegnasse per bene, come stai facendo tu. Complimenti ancora.

Could you please explain usage of indefinite articles? I know un, una, but don't know plural form of them.

It was nearly everything right, so don't worry!!! Only, the maschile singolare is "esso", non "esse". Esso, essa, essi and esse are right, but they're used only for objects, and only in written language. You can say them when you speak, it would be absolutely correct, but you'd sound a bit old-fashioned. When we speak, we don't usually say the pronoun, or, if we refer to objects, we use demostrative adjectives (questo=this, quello=that). When we refer to people, we say "lui" for a man and "lei" for a woman. And for the plural, "loro". There are also other pronouns, but they're used rarely.

Ciao Venturiano! Could you please help me? Am I correct writing: esse (maschili) è grigio, essa (femminile) è grigia, essi (maschili) sono grigi, esse (femminile) sono grigie? I'm not sure I'm correct in usage pronouns and agettives. Could you plese explain usage of pronouns? Thank you!
