I am from the southern part of the United States and believe me, some people in my area (the South) speak completely different from people in other parts of the United States. Think "Beverly Hillbillies"!!! haha I don't know anyone who eats oppossum, though!

Hi again Emily... Thank you for sharing my joy. I have a very American accent now, due to the fact that I hear a lot of American English on TV. And yes, I assume I will return with a British accent which I find nice too (even elegant...) Yes, living in a foreign country is the best way to get a real good insight in the spirit of a language and learn it. I have experienced that in France and Greece. I really feel blessed to have this happen for the third time. Too bad you are not living in England, I have the feeling I would have been thrilled to meet you Emily... So long

Hi Irina, That's wonderful! There's no better way to become totally proficient in a language than to live in a country where it is spoken. I'm sure it will be a great experience; and, of course, you'll return home speaking English with a British accent. I'm rather partial to our own American English, but then, as a born and bred New Yorker, I'm a bit biased. :) Emily

That is nice, I teach English too, but in private. In school I teach French. Really nice to meet you. I will spend next year in England so I will learn much more than I know now. I know nothing about life in Somerset (the region where I'll go).Yet I am sure I will have a lot of fun teaching there...
