I desperately need to take a vacation, but don't know where to go. At this point, I'm open to anything, since there are so many places that I have never been. Currently, I live in LA, but I dream of seeing far off lands...

I strongly recommend that you should  visit Istanbul, Turkey. I give you guarantee that you will never repent if you see Istanbul. You should check it from internet...
