Do you like German language?
I am interested why do you like German (of course, if you do), because many people say it is rude and unpleasant (especially comparing to French), but I do not agree with that. Each language has its own beauty, so does German.
Why have you decided to learn it?
I am just beginner, so I also want to listen what was the hardest for you in learning & how you solved that problems. Please, share your experience. =)
And what attracts you in german culture?

I studied German because it is not so different from our native language, Dutch, but I have to admit that I am not too fond of the standard german. There are however dialects which sound softer, like the Swiss. The best way to study it is to watch some tv programs, it is entertaining and you pick up new words while doing so. They have good police series ('Krimi's)

Between my acquaintance there is also an opinion - like you wrote - that it's hard to learn and it's pronunciation is very "stiff"
But for me, despite it has special phonetic sound, it's very interesting - like every language.
