I want to learn other languages, just for the sheer joy of learning another language! It is so fun to be able to speak to a person who does not speak your native tongue and to make a new friend who you can communicate with! Yeah, being able to get a better job and have a "one up" on other applicants is great but to me, if that is the only reason,  it is the shallowest reason. We are becoming a more global world, not just in terms of business but in terms of people migrating from their home of origin to another place. When other people move to your country, you don't have to, but it would be nice to make them feel welcome a little and surprise them and fun for you because you get to speak to them in a way no one else probably can! I just love languages and its just plain fun.

I want to learn foreign languages because I am a true polyglot in the first place.

Secondly, yeah, it is a real fortune because the more languages you understand and speak, the better chances you have to get a better job or meet interesting people.

As a conclusion - I learn foreign languages easily because I just love it! I can't imagine how boring my life would be if I spoke my mother tongue only, which is Bulgarian in my case.

I need English at work, so I practise it every day. But also I like Scotland, its culture and people, so I try to learn Gaelic. It's only for pleasure:)

Because it is the most efficient instrument to communicate with people who live in a different environment, with different mentality and habits. I do not learn languages only because I need them at work, but for passion.
