Hi,
I'm wondering if your meetings are only for very young people or if everybody can participate.

Just a word to say how much I enjoyed the meeting on Thursday June 26h.
Unlike the Basile, which was so hard to locate that I actually missed it, gave up and went home, the Snax Kfé is really easy to find with the flags outside, which marks it out as not just another café.
Just in case anyone is wondering what 'Kfé' means, that's just French newspeak for café, 'K' being pronounced 'Ca' and 'fé', 'fay'.
The chap at the bar told me just to introduce myself and pointed out a table where 4 people were sitting in conversation. Dave (Australia) introduced the group, with Thierry and Frank (France) and Vera (Brasil) chipping in. We soon invited Hatim (Morocco) to join us. He had been sitting reading a book on his own.
With the arrival of Felix (China), the group then morphed and was joined by Raduja (Morocco) who came to sit down with MinMin (China) and, somewhat later, Jean-Marc (France).
I had originally come to find someone to practice my almost non-existent Russian. On that score, it was a complete failure. Someone suggested that all the Russophones were in front of the telly watching the match with Spain.
On the other hand, I learned all about the one-child policy in China, the famous poem 'On leaving Cambridge', stochastics in bank risk management and the geography of Morocco, not to mention a hundred other little bits of information and a really agreeable atmosphere and exchange.
For those in doubt as to whether it's for them, I would say 'give it a try'. The ages ranged that day from 18 to 60 (I was certainly the eldest) and the price of drinks is very reasonable.
Nous nous tutoyâmes assez spontanément.
I left (perhaps a bit early : sorry MinMin) at 11, content and planning to return next Thursday.

A bientôt!

If you want to help Polyglot to grow,
Here is the new Polyglot poster to print and stick everywhere you can (where there are lots of foreigners) : don't forget to cut the little stripes ...
