Max,

Congratulations for your initiative and for your tenacity! These are the qualities that make a TRUE Polyglot! Sorry about the inaccessibility of the Polyglot Website for the past few days. Again, we had to upgrade the website, and could not delay the process any longer. Sorry that it occured during your Polyglot Meeting preparation, but now everything is back to normal.

Besides, you are right that Polyglot Meetings participants should REGISTER! We always try to emphasize this point. In any event, hang in there, keep trying, it WILL deliver eventually! And if you could meet ONE other Polyglot to exchange views and languages, it is already a VICTORY!

Altough nobody, except for an Italian guy, had confirmed they would be at this evening's meeting, I 'dared' to book a table for ten people basing myself on the number of registered people.

I did it because the Polyglot site was inaccessible for the last two days due to upgrading and perhaps they hadn't had the time to realize I had asked them to confirm their presence at the meeting.

Eventually only the Italian guy came, we waited until eight, then we had a beer and the happy hour meal.

At half past eight, thinking nobody would come any more, I told one of the waiters to consider the non-occupied seats free.

I've just come back home and I'm a bit disappointed but this won't stop me from organizing other meetings.

You'll hear from me again very soon! :D

p.s.: I won't book a table in advance any more without receiving confirmation from registered people and knowing at what time more or less they think they'll arrive...

Just a quick wrap up before the next Polyglot Meeting in MILAN tonight, 25 October from 7pm.

If you happen to be a male (safer than a female), you may want to leave your phone number RIGHT HERE, so people can gather more easily inside the pub.

Likewise, when you enter the bar, do introduce yourself to the bartender as a "Polyglot Member who takes part in the 25 October Polyglot Meeting". He will help all the participants to get together with minimum efforts.

HAVE FUN during the Polyglot Meeting. Don't forget to take pictures and post them RIGHT HERE, on the "Photos" section, and do leave your comments RIGHT BELOW :-))
