I am a 59 year old, recently retired, married accountant living in Vernon British Columbia Canada. I am fluent in French and English and I have recently decided to learn Portuguese after walking the Camino Portugues to Santiago Spain last year with my wife. I enjoyed the country and its people so much that I decided to take a Portuguese immersion course in Porto Portugal in Oct 2013. I have started to learn the language myself but I have no one to speak it with. I find that I can understand words orally and the subject of the conversation on radio but I cannot fully understand the sentences. With my knowledge of French, I can understand written news in Portuguese. So I follow the soccer and other news on RDP. I have many interests including astronomy, cross country skiing, long distance walking and travelling, dog training and kayaking.
