- Metro - مترو (metro) - The Tehran metro is the busiest metro system in Iran, and also one of the busiest in the Middle East. It currently has 6 operational lines and 123 stations.
- BRT - بی آر تی (BRT) - The Bus Rapid Transit system is an innovative form of bus-based mass transit, which operates on dedicated lanes.
- Train - قطار (ghatār) - Iran has a well-developed railway network which connects major cities and towns.
Traveling on foot
Sometimes, it's best to travel on foot, especially if you're exploring a new city or going for a short walk. Here are some useful words and phrases to describe traveling on foot:
- پیادهروی کردن (pāyāderavi kardan) - to walk
- پیادهروی (pāyāderavi) - walking
- پیادهرو (pāyāderav) - pedestrian
- جاده (jāde) - road
