What is the traditional Basque breakfast?[edit | edit source]

Just after getting up, the Basques can, for example, drink coffee, cocoa or orange juice and eat pastries or toast.

People who get up early can only have a drink when they wake up and eat something at around 11:00 like fruits or sandwiches.

Breakfast is called "Amaiketako" (Almuerzo in Spanish) or GOSARI.

It is not much different from the rest of Spain. Of course there are some specialties, but generally people eat more or less the same thing.

Good afternoon ! Now (2022-03-19) we are on Saturday and the season is beautiful. Trees begin to bear leaves. We are in March. It's ten o'clock and the temperature is not cold, it is nineteen (19) degrees. I will be at home learning Basque. One day, one word: BREAKFAST. I had breakfast in the morning! I took milk and bread.
