In this lesson, we will learn general health vocabulary in Basque. Sometimes when we are in a foreign country and we need medical attention, it can be daunting to express what we need in their language. Knowing basic health-related terms can help prevent communication breakdowns and can lead to better care.

Now that we have learned some common ailments and symptoms, let's learn the Basque vocabulary to describe the different health professionals we may encounter if we need medical attention.

Person 1: Farmaziara joan nintzen eta medikamentu berri bat hartu. (I went to the pharmacy and got a new medication.) Person 2: Farmazialariak zure kontura zaindu beharko lirateke. (The pharmacist should have advised you accordingly.)

Person 1: Inkektazio bat jasoa dut eta galtzen ari naiz. (I got an injection and I'm feeling faint.) Person 2: Denbora barna gelditu hemen. (Stay here for a while.)

We hope it never comes to this, but it is always a good idea to have a basic understanding of how to communicate during an emergency.
