Hi Central Kurdish learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will focus on how to give your opinion in Central Kurdish. Giving your opinion is essential in any language, as it allows you to express what you think and feel. With this lesson, you will be able to share your thoughts and feelings with native speakers and connect with them on a deeper level. Don't forget to use your Central Kurdish skills to find native speakers and ask them any questions that come to mind. 😃
Giving an Opinion[edit | edit source]
When giving your opinion, you will need to use specific phrases or words. Here are some examples:
Central Kurdish | Pronunciation | English |
---|---|---|

لە هەرحاڵێکدا | le herehalkeda | in every era/nowadays |
هەموو جیاوە | hemû jiya-we | all the time |
بنێرە | benera | I think |
بەڵێ | belê | yes |
نەخێر | nexêr | no |
Here is a dialogue that illustrates how to use these words and phrases:
- Person 1: بە عەبدوڵا نزیکی تایبەتە؟ (be Ebdullana nezikî taybeta?) (Do you live close to Abdulla?)
- Person 2: بۆ سەرچاوە کردن، نەخێر، لە 50 کیلۆمەترەوە دەرەوە. (bo searchawe kirdin, nexêr, le 50 kilometrawa derewa.) (In my opinion, no. it's 50 kilometers away)
In this dialogue, Person 2 expresses their opinion using the phrase "bo searchawe kirdin" (in my opinion) and also uses the word "nexer" (no).
Pay attention that in Central Kurdish, the verb always comes after the subject. For instance, "I think" would be "benera" and never "nerab".
