  • Person 1: دەرمان داڤەیان لەرێزیتە ئامادەیە؟ (Derman dawayan lerezyte ămădĕyă?) (Do you have any medicine in your prescription?)
  • Person 2:یە . دەرمانی هەمووسی ئامادەیە. (Ye. Dermanî hemûsî ămădĕyă.) (Yes. I have medicine for everything.)

  • Person 1: هەمووکەی کۆریە؟ (Hemûky koriyă?) (Are they all bones?)
  • Person 2: نەیە، هەمان بڕۆچەکن. (Neya, heman brîçekan.) (No, they also have muscles.)

Here are some words in Central Kurdish that are commonly used when talking about various illnesses:

  • Person 2: بەڵێ، ناتوانم بۆ بڵێم کە ئاگرە بووم. (Bele, nătăvanĕm boblem kă agră buwem.) (No, I can't run because I had breathing difficulties.)
  • Person 1: بیمارەی خێڵەک دەگات؟ (Bemarêy xelk degăt?) (Do you have a dental problem?)
  • Person 2: ئەو بیمارییە بیناسە خوێنم کەشت بەکارم نێوان مێژووکمە، شانەڕ و سێلێمم. (Ew bimariyă binasă xwênem keşt băkarĕm năwăn mĕzhewewkemă, şanăch û sēlēmm.) (I have dental implants that became inflamed between my gums, cheek, and chin.)

Emergency Vocabulary[edit | edit source]

Here are some emergency phrases in Central Kurdish that you need to know in case of an emergency situation:

Central Kurdish Pronunciation English
کەوتەکەی؟ /kotɛkej/ Where is the hospital?
بە یارمەتی تەندروستی دەربژاردەم. /be jarmetî tendrowestî dĕrbzhardĕm/ I need urgent medical attention.
کاتێک بەهێزم /katek behêzim/ I am in urgent need.
نابێت /nabeːt/ Don't move.

Now let's practice by using these phrases in a dialogue:

  • Person 1: ئەگەر دەکەینی بە شوێنێکی دووگمان ناوباشت. (Eger dakăyni be şwêneykî duwgeman nawbaste.) (If there is a doubt, don't hesitate to call a hospital.)
  • Person 2: شتێک وەرگرت بوو کەوتەکەم. (Ştĕk wergărt buw kotekăm.) (I remember where the hospital is.)
  • Person 1: دوو چاوەڕوانی دەردی دەداتەوە. کاتێک بەهێزیت لەمانە. (Daw chawêrawani dêrdê dadataga. Katek behêzît lămănă.) (Two paramedics are coming. You need urgent medical attention.)
  • Person 2: سەیرۆكی بە ئاسانی ناکاتەوە، نابێت دەچەینە. (Serûki be asani nakatĕwĕ, nabeːt dăchĕnă.) (Don't move and try to stay calm.)
