A "teacher" is called "ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕ" (adhyaapaka), and a "student" is a "ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ" (vidyaarthee). Finally, "camera" is "ಕ್ಯಾಮರಾ" (kyamara), which can come in handy for online classes or taking pictures of notes.

In addition, if you want to talk about more creative subjects like "Finger-painting," the Kannada word for it is "ಅಂಗುಲಾಕುಶಲೀಕರಣ" (angulaakushaleekarana). For "Art," use "ಚಿತ್ರಕಲೆ" (chitrakale). And, last but not least, "Music" is "ಸಂಗೀತ" (sangiita).

In the Classroom

• Teacher: ಹುಟ್ಟುಕುರುಡರು, ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ವಿವರಿಸಬೇಕು. (HuttukuruDarU, bord nalli udaaharaNegaLannu neevu vivarisa-beka?) which means "Students, explain the examples on the board."

• Student: ಸರ್, ನಾವು ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಪದಗಳ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಬಹುದು. (Sar, naavu angLa bhaaSheya kriyaapadagaLa udaaharaNegaLannu vivarisa-bahudhu) which means "Yes, we can explain examples of English verbs."

• Teacher: ನೀವು ಆ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಬಗೆಯ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ? (Neevu a puStakadaLi yAv bagyeeya saamaanya maahithiyan-nannu kandukoNDiDdeera?) which means "What sort of general information have you found in that book?"

"B.O.T" is "ಬಿಓಟಿ" (biOTi), which stands for "build, operate, and transfer" and is used in connection with public infrastructure projects.
