急 jí nervous, excited in Mandarin Chinese
Definition[edit | edit source]
Radical is 心 xīn “heart” (262), since the emotions are involved. This radical, when occurring at the bottom of a character, is referred to colloquially as 心字底 xīnzìdĭ “bottom made up of the character 心.” Distinguish 急 from 怎 zĕn (217) and 意 yì (347).
