Ordinal Numbers 1 - 10[edit | edit source]
- Birinci (First) Birinci is used to indicate the first position in a series. For example, "Bu birinci denemem." means "This is my first attempt."
- İkinci (Second) İkinci is used to indicate the second position in a series. For example, "İkinci sıradaki öğrenci kim?" means "Who is the student in the second row?"
- Üçüncü (Third) Üçüncü is used to indicate the third position in a series. For example, "Üçüncü kez buraya geliyorum." means "I am coming here for the third time."
- Dördüncü (Fourth) Dördüncü is used to indicate the fourth position in a series. For example, "Dördüncü defa söylüyorum." means "I am saying this for the fourth time."
- Beşinci (Fifth) Beşinci is used to indicate the fifth position in a series. For example, "Beşinci maddeye dikkat edin." means "Pay attention to the fifth item."
- Altıncı (Sixth) Altıncı is used to indicate the sixth position in a series. For example, "Altıncı kattan indim." means "I came down from the sixth floor."
- Yedinci (Seventh) Yedinci is used to indicate the seventh position in a series. For example, "Yedinci sınıfta öğrenciyim." means "I am a student in the seventh grade."
- Sekizinci (Eighth) Sekizinci is used to indicate the eighth position in a series. For example, "Sekizinci dakikada gol attılar." means "They scored a goal in the eighth minute."
- Dokuzuncu (Ninth) Dokuzuncu is used to indicate the ninth position in a series. For example, "Dokuzuncu sırada bekliyoruz." means "We are waiting in the ninth queue."
- Onuncu (Tenth) Onuncu is used to indicate the tenth position in a series. For example, "Onuncu yıl kutlaması yapacağız." means "We will celebrate the tenth year."

- A: Ben de iyiyim, teşekkür ederim. Kaçıncı sınıftasın? (I'm also good, thank you. What grade are you in?)
- B: Onuncu sınıftayım. Sen? (I'm in the tenth grade. How about you?)
- A: Ben de onuncu sınıftayım. Hangi dersleri seversin? (I'm also in the tenth grade. What subjects do you like?)
- B: Ben matematik ve tarih derslerini seviyorum. Peki sen? (I like math and history classes. How about you?)
- A: Ben de matematiği seviyorum ama tarih dersleri pek sevemiyorum. (I also like math but I'm not a big fan of history classes.)
- B: Anlıyorum. Senin hobilerin nelerdir? (I understand. What are your hobbies?)
- A: Ben müzik dinlemeyi ve kitap okumayı seviyorum. Peki senin hobilerin nelerdir? (I like listening to music and reading books. How about you?)
- B: Ben futbol oynamayı ve yüzme yapmayı seviyorum. (I like playing soccer and swimming.)
- A: Çok güzel. Belki bir gün birlikte bir futbol maçı yapabiliriz! (That's great. Maybe one day we can play a soccer match together!)
- B: Tabii, neden olmasın! (Sure, why not!)
