Traditional Kabyle Clothing[edit | edit source]

Traditional Kabyle clothing is unique and reflects the culture and history of the Kabyle people. The traditional dress of the Kabyle women includes a wide range of accessories that add to its beauty and elegance. Among these accessories are brooches, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Kabyle women also wear a colorful woolen shawl called ṭaɣmict which is draped around their shoulders. The taɣmict has hand-made fringes that add to its esthetic value.

In the past, men's traditional attire included a white turban that was tied around their head. They also wore a long-sleeved woolen garment called azetta and a woolen cloak known as taməzərt. Nowadays, Kabyle men wear modern clothing that is similar to what is commonly worn in other parts of Algeria.
