愿(願) yuàn wish, want in Mandarin Chinese
Definition[edit | edit source]
Radical of the simplified form is 心 xīn “heart”. When it occurs at the bottom of a character, this radical is referred to colloquially as 心字底 xīnzìdĭ “bottom made up of the character 心.” Radical of the traditional form is 頁 yè “page.” Phonetic is 原 yuán. Distinguish simplified 愿 from 原.
