Demonstrative Pronouns[redaktə | mənbəni redaktə et]
Demonstrative Pronouns in Mandarin Chinese are divided into two categories: 这 (zhè) and 那 (nà). 这 (zhè) refers to something that is close to the speaker, while 那 (nà) refers to something that is far from the speaker.
Here are some examples:
Mandarin Chinese | Pronunciation | North Azerbaijani |
---|---|---|
这个 (zhè gè) | [ʈʂə̂ kə̌] | bu |
这些 (zhè xiē) | [ʈʂə̂ ɕjɛ́] | bu |
那个 (nà gè) | [nà kə̌] | bu |
那些 (nà xiē) | [nà ɕjɛ́] | bu |
As you can see from the table above, 这 (zhè) and 那 (nà) are used to indicate the proximity of an object. 这个 (zhè gè) means "this one," while 那个 (nà gè) means "that one." 这些 (zhè xiē) means "these," while 那些 (nà xiē) means "those."
Interrogative Pronouns[redaktə | mənbəni redaktə et]
Interrogative Pronouns in Mandarin Chinese are used to ask questions. There are five Interrogative Pronouns: - 谁 (shéi) - who - 什么 (shén me) - what - 哪 (nǎ) - which - 几 (jǐ) - how many - 多少 (duō shǎo) - how much/many
Here are some examples:

As you can see from the table above, each Interrogative Pronoun has a specific question it is used for. 谁 (shéi) is used to ask about a person, 什么 (shén me) is used to ask about things, 哪 (nǎ) is used to ask about a choice, 几 (jǐ) is used to ask about quantity, and 多少 (duō shǎo) is used to ask about an amount.
