What are Adverbs of Time?[redaktə | mənbəni redaktə et]

Adverbs of time are words that indicate when an action took place. In Thai, adverbs of time are placed at the beginning or end of a sentence. They can also be placed after the verb but before the object.

Here are some examples of adverbs of time in Thai:

Thai Pronunciation North Azerbaijani

เมื่อวาน meuua-waan dün
พรุ่งนี้ phruung-nii yarın
เมื่อคืน meuua-kheun dün gece
แต่วันนี้ dtàe wan-nii fakat bugün

เมื่อกี้ meuua-kii önceki günlerde

How to use Adverbs of Time[redaktə | mənbəni redaktə et]

To use adverbs of time in a sentence, we typically place them at the beginning or end of the sentence. Here are some examples:

  • วันนี้ฉันไปเที่ยว (Wan-nii chăn bpai tiăo) - I went sightseeing today.
  • ฉันไปเที่ยววันนี้ (Chăn bpai tiăo wan-nii) - I went sightseeing today.
  • เมื่อวานฉันไม่ได้ทานข้าว (Meuua-waan chăn mâi dâi thaan khâao) - I didn't eat rice yesterday.
  • ฉันไม่ได้ทานข้าวเมื่อวาน (Chăn mâi dâi thaan khâao meuua-waan) - I didn't eat rice yesterday.

Notice that in the first two examples, the adverb of time "วันนี้" (wan-nii) is placed at the beginning and end of the sentence respectively. In the last two examples, the adverb of time "เมื่อวาน" (meuua-waan) is placed at the end of the sentence.

In addition, adverbs of time can also be placed after the verb but before the object. Here's an example:

  • ฉันกินข้าวเมื่อคืน (Chăn gin khâao meuua-kheun) - I ate rice last night.
